Q: Why am I not able
to switch video content to fullscreen mode?
A: Unfortunately fullscreen mode is only supported by Windows Media
Player for XP (Windows Media
Player 8), Windows Media Player 9 (for Windows XP) & Windows Media Player 10
& Windows Media
Player 11. When opening NetPLAYER, NetPLAYER will automatically check what version of Microsoft
Windows you are using. If it finds that you are using Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1 or
Windows XP Service Pack 2. The fullscreen option will be available in the Options menu. If you are using
any
other version of Windows this option will not be available.
Q: When trying to use
NetPLAYER for BBCi i receive the following message: "It appears that you
do not have NetPLAYER for BBCi installed on this system.
Please install NetPLAYER for BBCi
from the melaS International website." Why is this?
A: NetPLAYER for BBCi is an optional extra add-on for NetPLAYER. This message will appear
if NetPLAYER for BBCi was not found in the expected location
on your hard drive. Please visit the
melaS International website to install NetPLAYER for BBCi.
Q: When
opening NetPLAYER, The Splash screen only displays on my screen briefly,
and then
disappears, without opening NetPLAYER. Why?
A: This error has one of two causes. If you are using NetPLAYER
3.0.114 (or any an earlier NetPLAYER 3
release), this is because a required OCX file is not
registered in the Windows Registery. This required
files is provided with the installer, however the
registration of the file was not successful. Also,
NetPLAYER may require additional files for running. In order
to keep the installers file size small, we
have decided to not include this files in the
installer package. During the installation process, you will be
asked to select the components you wish to install. If you
are installing NetPLAYER 3 for this first time
please choose "Full (New) Installation" (as shown in the
image below)

In the next page of the installer you will be asked what
additional tasks should be performed. Those
installing NetPLAYER 3 for the first time should select
"Microsoft MDAC" & "Microsoft Distributed
Component Object Module (DCOM)". Selecting these will
download the required files from the
Microsoft.com website, and will then automatically install
them onto your computer.

This should now have solved this problem. However, we would
like to suggest that you download the
latest version of NetPLAYER (version
3.14.461),
and install that version. If you exprience any further
problems using NetPLAYER, please let us know by e-mailing us
at:
melaSInternational@Gmail.com
NOTE: If you are upgrading from an old version of NetPLAYER 3,
you do not need to download and
install
these files from Microsoft.com, this is only required for new
installations.
Q: My
internet connection is above what is required for the stream i am
viewing, however, i am
still receiving a low reception quality. Why is this?
A: There could be two possible reasons that you are receiving a low
reception quality, even though your
internet connections speed is above what is required by
the stream you are viewing. The first possibility
is that other programs running on the computer is
accessing the internet as well. If this is the case,
there may not be enough of your bandwidth available for NetPLAYER to obtain a good enough signal
quality. This could also be the case if another
computer that shares the same internet connection is
accessing the internet.
If however, there is no other program accessing the
internet, and you internet connection speed is
above the minimum required for the stream you have
selected, and you are still experiencing problems,
it could be that the many people (around the world) are
trying to access this stream at the same time,
and the server delivering the stream is unable to cope
the the high demand. In such a case there is
nothing you or we can do, you will just have to wait
until the demand for the stream declines. A
situation like this often occurs on news streams (or
streams that provide special content), this was
recently the case with the strike of Hurricane Katrina
in the USA states.
