The big question. How and when did NetPLAYER begin? It was mid-June 2004. melaS International's first product had been released after just two days of development. This product was known as the International Lyrics dataBase (now renamed to i.Lyrics dB), was melaS International's first product, which at that time was distributed via the ManasseWoodman Online website as melaS International did not have their own yet. melaS International then begun work on a new program that will make listening to live radio & watching live TV streams a breeze. Upon the first publically available release (although this was only a Beta test release) on 6 July 2004, NetPLAYER contained only a few radio and TV stations, and was distributed via WMPlugins.com (the official Window Media Player Plug-In website) also because there was no melaS International website yet. At this time, it was still clearly visible that a Window Media Player control was being used for the streams, as it still included the standard Windows Media Player buttons. NetPLAYER soon grew rapidly, and had new streams added regularly. At one stage NetPLAYER even had one of the CBS affiliate stations. NetPLAYER later became more customised by getting rid of the Windows Media Player buttons and adding its own buttons. Then, for even more convenience for the user an InformationWindow was added, were the channel logo is displayed as well as other additional info, like what song is playing or has been played, how you can access the station without using the webstream, and the timezone of the region that the stream is coming from.
